Description

(red) 100 days. [Family heirloom from the Valsugana valley of Italy near Trento, via William Rubel. Originally brought to Italy from America, it evolved over hundreds of years to become the staple polenta corn of the valley. Introduced by SESE and Fedco Seeds 2009.] Beautiful medium- to deep-red kernels are slightly pointed. Cornmeal has a pink cast, and makes a polenta with a remarkably rich, complex flavor. Plants grow 7-10 ft. tall - slightly smaller and faster maturing than other varieties we offer. Some tendency to lodge.
